About,Amy Lucy

My journey to the art of human connection. Not a CV, just the honest story of how I came to do this work.

My Journey to the Art of Human Connection

The Beginning

My journey into this work started with my own insecurities.

After becoming a mum, like so many women, my confidence changed. I had parts of myself I'd learned to hide, and I thought I just had to accept feeling less than myself. Around eight years later, I was coming out of a difficult chapter in my life. I didn't feel like me, and my confidence was at an all-time low.

That's when I discovered the power of real, intentional connection, not just with others, but with myself.

The Breakthrough

Hardly anyone was offering this kind of work in the UK back then, so I was travelling HOURS for guidance. After my first real breakthrough, I saw a difference. I felt lighter, more present, more like the woman I remembered being. But more importantly, I started feeling like ME again.

At the time I was a makeup artist. I loved makeup and had always had a natural eye for beauty, but this work gave me something different. I knew how it felt to change something I'd been insecure about for YEARS, and I wanted to do that for other women and men.

So in 2019 I completely changed the direction of my career. I trained in coaching, and I'll be honest, it was the very basics. I wasn't taught how to handle every situation and I certainly wasn't shown how to understand different personalities, different histories, different needs. I was doing make-up and coaching on the side. I didn't know what I was doing and I was really unhappy. Then Covid came and it felt like the end of my life, but looking back it was a blessing in disguise. It gave me the time I needed. I had a friend living with me, so I took that time to practice, practice, practice, on myself, on her, even on my neighbour. I became obsessed with learning how different people respond, I extended the time, I adapted what I was learning into how to achieve the best possible results.

That is how I developed my own techniques, which eventually became the AMY-LUCY METHOD™, and later the Amy-Lucy Coaching Studio, where I now guide others.

Helping Others

The first time I truly listened, really listened, I knew I'd made the right decision.

For years I'd assumed that if you weren't a certain type of person, this kind of work wasn't something you could do. Eventually I took the leap and trained. I've invested thousands into my education, trained with different mentors and continued to reinvest in myself and my skills. Some training has been incredible, some not so incredible, but I've never stopped learning.

I have been navigating my own relationships for years, so I knew what it felt like to be on the other side of the conversation, and what sort of guide I wanted to be, and how I would make the person in my chair feel.

To me, this work is an art form and a very big responsibility. It's knowing what to work on, what NOT to work on, and when to stop. And also, how to truly care for the person you are guiding.

I never want to change someone into someone else. I want you to still look and feel like YOU, just the best version of you.

Who I Am

If you looked at my life today, I genuinely don't think you'd believe how much work I've done on myself. And that is exactly the point.

Starting with presence, of course, the quiet confidence that comes from feeling at ease in your own skin. Then communication, good judgement, and the kind of self-awareness that turns chemistry into something lasting.

And really, that sums up everything I do.

You might see the very put-together version of me on Instagram, but behind that I'm a mum, a woman with a LOT of life experience and someone who has had to find herself again, more than once.

I'm down to earth, incredibly non-judgemental and I genuinely care about every person who walks through my doors.

I'll always give you my honest opinion. I'll never recommend something I don't believe you need. And there is absolutely nothing about your story, your body, or your past that you ever need to feel embarrassed showing me.

There's a LOT more to my story than I can fit onto one website page, so if you want the uncensored version, you'll have to come and see me.

Everything I've built comes back to the same thing that has always been at the heart of Amy-Lucy Coaching Studio: empowerment. Helping people look and feel like the best version of themselves, and find connection that lasts.

A Closing Thought

“To be fully seen by somebody, then, and be loved anyhow, this is a human offering that can border on miraculous.”
